Fed: Legal avenue still an option against Japan whaling

KEVIN RUDD might discuss whaling with his Japanese counterpart during his stop in Tokyo
today .. en route to the climate summit in Copenhagen.

The Prime Minister says legal action is still an option in Australia's efforts to get
Japan to stop its so-called scientific whaling program .. but maintains a diplomatic solution
is preferred.

Japan's fleet has already started its annual expedition to Antarctica to catch whales.
