Fed: Time running out for extradition of Mexican banker = 2

A spokeswoman for Federal Justice Minister Chris Ellison told AAP the government had
signed the surrender warrant and had met all its obligations under international law.

The spokeswoman said the Australian government was waiting on Mexico to send officials
here to escort Cabal on his flight home.

But she could not say when Mexico would move and dismissed the possibility the Mexican
government would let its 60-day deadline expire.

"That's not the intention, they intend to sort this out as soon as possible," she said.
