SA: Growth in SA s property market.

The Real Estate Institute of South Australia (REISA) says the state's property market
has recorded its best year of growth in more than five years.

Figures for the March quarter this year show median house prices rose by nearly ten
per cent to $122,000.

REISA President ROSALIND NEALE says the SA property industry was very active in the
last half of 1999 and that trend has continued this year.

She says buyers are still active, interest rates are still comparatively low and there
are plenty of affordable properties available.

One of the strongest growth areas was inner-metropolitan Adelaide which saw median
house prices rise almost 25 per cent to nearly $240,000.
